Last night fans poured into The Town Hall in New York City to celebrate a stacked line up and raise funds for The Ally Coalition. TAC takes action for LGBTQ equality, this year’s event raised $200,000.
While no one would argue that Taylor Swift stole the show, the night was a packed to the seams with talented artists. The night kicked off with Jack Antonoff opened the show with I Miss Those Days ,the whole sold out crowd gradually joining in. Regina Spektor preformed a emotionally brimming set, feeling more so like we were watching in on a closed personal rehearsal. Mitski played a set that brought me to tears, she played a mix of Puberty 2, Bury Me at Makeout Creek, Retired from Sad, New Career in Business.
Hayley Kiyoko who was joined by T Swizzle aka Taylor Swift, who sang Delicate. One of the mot underrated part of the entire evening was Hayley introducing Taylor as if she was a small time artist “who just signed to Universal and had never played a Town hall before”!
Jack Antonoff joined Lana Del Rey on piano for her new song Venice Bitch along with some new country songs “just for fun”. Now I’m not a huge country fan but if every country song sounded like these masterpieces then slap a cowboy hat on me and let out a big YEEHAW!
All and in all, the night was star studded, full of talent and raised money for a phenomenal cause.
